Despite the inner turmoil surrounding the Selinger government, a fall legislature session is scheduled for Nov. 20.
"Last week was a very long week in politics but we're governing,” said Steve Ashton, the NDP's new house leader.
Ashton said even with the upheaval over Premier Selinger's leadership, they remain focused on governing.
The sitting, which will run until Dec. 4, will be kicked off with a speech from the throne.
"Too little, too late,” said Rana Bokhari, Manitoba Liberal leader. “"I think what they're going to go in for what 11 or 12 days, it's just irresponsible and it should have started two weeks ago. But, let’s work with it.”
Ashton emerged from a meeting of the premier's new cabinet to announce the dates and the throne speech.
"I can tell you one thing - I think it's going to be a very energetic document. It's going to be a very ambitious vision,” he said.
The PCs also weighed in on the fall session Wednesday. The Opposition said it looks forward to the sitting but wants to know how much can be debated in such a short time.
A new poll by Mainstreet Technologies done for the Winnipeg Free Press shows more than half of Manitobans surveyed feel Selinger should resign.
Five of the Premier's key ministers stepped down on Monday after openly questioning his leadership last week.
Selinger has said he intends to lead the party into the next election.
