Being able to speak multiple languages can be a real asset. Thursday evening, parents gathered at Luxton School to continue to discuss their proposal for Winnipeg School Division’s first ever Spanish Bilingual Program.
The idea was first brought forward in 2012 but was never implemented. If it succeeds, the program would see students learn half of their everyday subjects in Spanish. The program would begin in kindergarten and continue through to Grade 8 or 12.
Organizers are now working with the Winnipeg School Division to continue gauging interest in the program. Their hope is for Luxton School to begin running the program in September 2015.
