A man is in custody facing charges of sexual assault on an underage girl.

Officers say the man and the girl met on Saturday at around 10:00 p.m. in the area of Portage Avenue and Sherbrook Street. Police say they then went to a house party in East St. Paul and left after a minor disturbance occurred.

The girl was taken to a secluded area in the 1900 block of Main Street, grabbed from behind, thrown to the ground and seriously sexually assaulted, say police.

Police say the victim was held against her will and taken to three more secluded locations. Officers say she was seriously sexually assaulted at each of the locations.

Police say the victim called 911 and officers found the girl with a man in the area of Main Street and Armstrong Avenue.

Richard Darren Rondeau, 26-years-old, is facing a number of charges including: sexual assault, sexual assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, uttering threats and break and enter to commit an indictable offence.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Rondeau remains in custody.
