Jets fans will be able to enjoy post-game drinks even later Saturday night.
The Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba has authorized a one-time extension for establishments to serve liquor and stay open one hour later than usual.
Based on the late start of the Jets game Saturday night in California and demand from bar owners, all bars and licensed establishments in Manitoba will be allowed to serve liquor until 3 a.m. Sunday and stay open until 4 a.m.
The Jets play the Anaheim Ducks Saturday at 9:30 p.m. Winnipeg time in game two of their Stanley Cup playoff series.
A spokesperson on behalf of the LGA said the organization will cooperate with law enforcement so everything runs smoothly.
The extension is one-time only; however, the LGA will revisit further extensions should the playoff series return to the West Coast next week and demand from owners continue.
