A man escaped serious injury Saturday night, after a furnace exploded in his face.
The explosion happened around 11:00 p.m. at The Royal Canadian Mint. The 38-year-old employee was injured after a furnace that was turned off some how ignited and caused an explosion.
The man was thrown to the ground and suffered burns to the face.
Surprisingly, he walked away without serious injury.
As a precaution, he was taken to the St. Boniface hospital, but he has since been released.
