A student was sent to hospital after being sprayed with bear mace at a Winnipeg high school Wednesday.
The Winnipeg School Division said Tec Voc High School was put into lockdown around 9:00 a.m.
Officials said unknown people entered the school and sprayed a student with bear mace.
The student was taken to hospital for treatment.
The division said Tec Voc staff immediately took steps to ensure students were safe, and called 911.
Police arrived shortly after and the lockdown was lifted at 9:45 a.m.
Division clinical support services were on hand to support students and staff throughout the day.
Letters are being sent home to parents regarding the incident.
Winnipeg police continue to investigate.
