The Winnipeg Jets will get an “epic” new theme song to open their opening video this season courtesy of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and a Hollywood film composer.
Shawn Pierce, who is known for his work on shows like The Bridge, Motive, and Haven, will compose the piece.
"The Jets told us they wanted something epic and we immediately thought of Shawn Pierce. I don't think we can describe his music as anything other than," WSO conductor Alexander Mickelthwate said in a news release.
Pierce is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston and studied at the New England Conservatory.
He has also worked as a record producer, songwriter, and engineer on more than 200 recorded albums, earning him a Grammy nomination, five Juno Awards, and 22 Juno nominations.
