A 33-year-old man is facing charges after a break and enter in Fort Richmond Saturday morning.
Just before 6 a.m. police went to a home on Allegheny Drive for a report of a break and enter.
Home owners told officers a man broke into their home by smashing a window with a chair.
Police said a man banged on the door and rang the bell repeatedly. When the homeowners didn’t respond, he smashed the back door and window, police said.
When one of the residents called 911, the man apologized for breaking in. He explained he was cold.
The man left the home a short while later without incident.
A 33-year-old man is now facing a charge of break and enter with intent.
Police said the man was intoxicated at the time of the break-in.
