A man from Cross Lake is disputing one woman’s account of a vicious wolf attack that left her with neck injuries.
Dawn Hepp was the victim of the attack. She previously said she stopped at the side of the highway near Grand Rapids earlier this month to help another driver in distress. That’s when a wolf mauled her at the side of the road on Highway 6, said Hepp.
The other driver has come forward, saying there are holes in her story. Clayton Ross said she got out of her car and tried to feed the animal, and that’s when it attacked.
Ross said he and his girlfriend asked if she was alright, and she told them not to worry.
Hepp contacted CTV News earlier today. She still maintains she didn’t approach or try to feed the animal, but said she may have had remnants of food on her hands.
Meanwhile, Manitoba Conservation says a wolf attack is rare, and they are still investigating the incident.
