Winnipeg police have laid charges against a 40-year-old man they suspect of robbing multiple banks – with some heists dating back to 2011.
Just before noon on Friday a man wearing a disguise went into a bank in the 500 block of Sargent Avenue and demanded cash from a teller, police said.
The man got the cash and then fled from the bank, said police. A short while later officers found a man in the same area and arrested him.
An ongoing investigation by the major crimes unit found the same bank in the 500 block of Sargent had been robbed four times since December 2011 and a bank a few blocks away in the 600 block of Notre Dame had also been hit.
Glen Thomas Muskego is now facing multiple charges including five counts of robbery.
