Three suspects are in custody after allegedly assaulting two men and trying to steal their case of beer in the 600 block of Main Street Thursday night.
Around 8 p.m., a 37-year-old man and a 30-year-old man had been walking in the area when they were approached by three men. The three suspects started assaulting the 37-year-old victim and tried to steal his case of beer, said police.
The 30-year-old man tried to flee from the suspects with the case of beer but was knocked to the ground and assaulted, said officers.
The 37-year-old victim received minor injuries, but the 30-year-old man was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
With the help of witnesses, police arrested three suspects in the area where the attacks unfolded.
Robert Caine, 27, Ryan James Edel, 34, and Andre Collins Mitchell, 41, all of Winnipeg, face charges for robbery with violence and aggravated assault, said police.
