City of Winnipeg officials have made an extra list of streets, to get more road work done this year while helping the ailing construction industry.
A report at City Hall recommends $8 million from the 2017 budget year be used in 2016 to fix a road in each of the 15 city wards.
Winnipeg’s Infrastructure Committee asked department officials to come up with the list earlier this week.
The construction industry said it is facing layoffs because of a lack of work at the city and provincial levels.
