Colouring is normally thought of as pastime for children, but more and more adults are picking up pencils and embracing the hobby.

Now, amateur artists have a new indigenous colouring book to add to their collection.

According to the Aboriginal Student Co-op Project, this is the first indigenous adult colouring book in Canada.

It's called Colour Me Serene. The book was sold Sunday at the Exclusive Aboriginal Art Sale and Show inside the Assiniboine Park Conservatory.

Colour Me Serene was produced by aboriginal youth and is proving to be very popular. All 25 copies sold out Sunday.

"For us, a huge success in watching our students become so confident in talking to the customers and people coming in and showing how knowledgeable they are about the products, that's a success too," said Jackie Dolynchuk, a Community Support Worker, Children of the Earth High School.

The colouring books cost $10. A new batch will be printed and sold later this week.
