A couple transformed an old Safeway supermarket into a holiday treat. A “mega-train” started rolling through the old Safeway at 3059 Ness Ave. near Sturgeon Road on Saturday.

The train was set up by Mauriseand SusanDorge.

The couple normally organize the Manitoba Mega Train Show and wanted to find other ways to share the fun.

"We decided the kids really enjoy it, so we went looking for a place to put it inside to give families and community people some place to take their younger kids to have a Christmas spirit and Christmas ride," said Susan Dorge.

Admission is $5, with $1 donated to charity. You can bring a food donation, for a discounted entry fee.

The ride operates from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. It will be closed on Christmas Day.
