Manitobans can now get highway condition updates from the province via Twitter. The Manitoba Government announced it will be tweeting to let motorists know about breaking weather-related conditions and closures.

Twitter, the popular social media tool which has grown in popularity since its launch in 2006, has an estimated 190 million users worldwide.

To receive the updates, follow @MBGov on Twitter. If you don't have an account, you can still search government hashtags to stay up-to-date. Hashtags track tweets about a specific topic. Search a keyword by placing a # in front of it to see who has mentioned that word in recent tweets.
