Police say 14 people arrested in connection with a series of drug raids in and around Winnipeg have been formally charged with more than 100 drug and weapons-related offenses.
Following an investigation that started in April, officers raided a series of residences in October, targeting an alleged drug-trafficking cell with connections to Asian organized crime, said police.
"There's no question. We can say this particular drug network has been shut down," said Const. Jason Michalyshen.
In October, officers seized cocaine, ecstasy, morphine and other drugs with an estimated value of more than $100,000. Police also say the network was responsible for moving millions of dollars worth of drugs in and around Winnipeg.
