The rainbow Pride flag will fly outside Winnipeg city hall to support gay athletes at the Olympics.
The mayor's office says the flag will stay up for five days, as per protocol.
The move comes after Toronto Mayor Rob Ford ordered the Pride flag down last week in that city to fly a Canadian flag.
Ford eventually relented after public feedback.
