Highway 13 at Oakville, Man. re-opened Wednesday morning after it was closed much of Tuesday night due to a train derailment.

CN Rail officials confirm around 9:30 Tuesday night that an eastbound freight train carrying wheat went into an emergency stop.

Crews found the rear wheels of one car off the rail, but it remained upright.

Sparks from the incident ignited a grassfire beside the truck. Piles of old rail ties also caught fire.

RCMP officials say local fire crews were able to get the blaze under control by around 10:30 p.m.

Rail authorities confirm there were no injuries.

CN was moving trains through the area using an adjacent track within two hours.

The cause is under investigation.
