The former president of the Manitoba chapter of the Hell's Angels was sentenced to 13 years on a drug trafficking conviction.

A judge sentenced Ernie Dew on Thursday.

The 48-year-old was convicted earlier this year on four counts of drug trafficking.

In February 2006, police arrested 13 people, including three members of the Hell's Angels on drug trafficking charges in a sting called Project Defense.

During the investigation Dew sold more than 110 ounces of cocaine to a police agent hired by the RCMP to make drug purchases on their behalf.

Dew has agreed to forfeit his home as part of his sentence.

He's getting credit for the time he has already served while awaiting trial.
