Manitoba artists have picked up 13 nominations for next month’s Juno Awards which will be held at MTS Centre.
The nominations were announced Tuesday morning from Toronto.
KEN mode’s album Entrench got the nod for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year, an award they won in 2012.
Indie rock band Royal Canoe is nominated for Alternative Album of the Year for Today We Are Believers.
Mahogany Frog, an electronic rock band, is up for Instrumental Album of the Year for SENNA.
Jazz duo Erin Propp and Larry Roy’s debut album Courage My Love is nominated for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year.
Country singer Desiress Dorion’s sophomore recording Small Town Stories is nominated for Aboriginal Album of the Year.
The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra is up for Classical Album of the Year: Vocal or Choral Performance for Ravel, Sayat-Nova & Kradjian: Troubadour & the Nightingale, a collaboration with singer Isabel Bayrakdarian.
Little Miss Higgins and the Winnipeg Five are nominated for Roots Traditional Album of the Year for Bison Ranch Recording Sessions.
Francophone artist Marie-Claude picked up a nomination for Children’s Album of the Year.
Other Manitobans picking up nominations include Matt Epp, Ruth Moody, James Ehnes and Earl MacDonald.
The awards ceremony will take place Sunday March 30, 2014 at MTS Centre.
