The provincial government has issued a flood watch for Dauphin Lake.

The warning comes after heavy rain in the area, coupled with forecasts for a lot more in the next few weeks.

As a result, Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation's Hydrologic Forecast Centre said levels on the lake could rise at least another foot (30 centimetres). Wind and poor weather conditions could push that rise to nearly three feet (91 centimetres).

Property owners are bring advised to secure or remove valuables along shorelines.
