Canada Post plans to stop home delivery in urban centres such as Winnipeg over five years. The federal Crown corporation aims to increase postal rates and switch to community mailboxes in a bid to help save up to $900 million a year. Thousands of jobs also will be eliminated.
Police carried out a traffic stop in the area of Thames Avenue and Watt Street and arrested three people. Police then carried out a search of two residences, seizing drugs and guns and arresting a 21-year-old woman.
